Amorphaphallus bulbifer

$15.00

You will receive 1 offset dormant bulb, best to be potted up in early spring.

The main photo is off Wikipedia as i have not flowered on of these my self just yet.

Amorphophallus bulbifer is a common easy species and great for beginners into the amorphophallus genus. Ive grown them in the greenhouse and outside in near full sun with great success but they can also be grown indoors.

I would recommend potting this into a 150mm pot at a minimum as the root mass and bulb can put on a huge amount of size over a growing season.

Amorphophallus also like quite alot of fertiliser during the growing season and not let to dry out completely(similar watering to nepenthes). During autumn they will go dormant often collapsing over a few days. At which point I dig them up, wash the bulbs up and store them in a cool dry place until spring rolls back around when I will pot them back up into my chosen mix, 50/50 potting soil and perlite and 25/25/50 potting soil, coco chips and perlite have both worked well for me.

Growing condition

Difficulty: medium

Type: Intermediate

Water: clean water, keep damp.

Light: full sun to part shade

Humidity: High humidity preferred

For anymore information on these plants please feel free to contact us directly and I'll be more then happy to help.

We can only send plants within Australia only, excepting NT, WA and TAS.
